Here in Te Ngahere we have been doing calendar art. Our goal was to draw continuous lines, draw curves, rule straight lines, select colours for effect and blend colours. We first got a piece of paper that had a slight outline of a design that looked like a koru. I decided to use a pencil because I personally thought that it was easier to sketch with, instead of using pens or colouring in pencils. I found it difficult to see the outline at some point because the lines were very light and not easy to see. I enjoyed going over the outlines because it was easier for me instead of drawing my own koru design free handed. Have you done calendar art before ?
