On Thursday Tracy from swim safe came to Paihia School to go over things that we have learnt in the past and also giving us more advice for when you are in a rip or on a boat. Tracy had brought multiple examples of equipment that will help you if you are out on a boat or caught in a rip. The main steps of how to keep safe on a boat are tell a adult where you are going, always wear a life jacket, your safety first, always check the weather and keep a device that you can contact the coast guard with nearby. Tracy explained to Te Ngahere how to use a flare properly if you are in a emergency. We took the advice that tracy gave us and made a DLO about what we learnt. Here is my DLO

ReplyDeleteI was looking through your blog and found your DLO about Swim safe. I enjoyed how you have told me what you learnt about how to stay safe on a boat or if you get stuck in a rip. I also like how you have done your DLO. It is very creative. Are you going to apply these rules to yourself?
