Maths Cards

Here in Te Ngahere we have learnt a new game that includes
matching a set of cards together. We had to make groups of four
because each pile has 16 cards. The way the game is played is, you get into a group of four, give each player four completely random cards. You are not allowed to communicate in any way. We were only allowed to give cards to  team mates we weren’t allowed to take them. Our goal was to get a full set of four cards that had the same number. The cards had dots, shapes, numbers, and shaded tiles. We had to match the cards with different patterns on them to get a stack of four cards that represented that number. The random number that I got was five. What I found difficult was that we were not allowed to communicate with each other or give non-verbal signals.
