My Poupou Art

Here in Te Ngahere we have been doing art. We had to design our own Poupou representing ourselves. We first had to practise our draft on a A4 piece of paper using pencil, we had to sketch our drawings lightly because if we made a mistake it would be alot easier erasing it instead of erasing dark bold lines. I found it difficult to get some of the lines symmetrical. I personally enjoyed art but the layout of this art was very confusing for me as we had to make sure that everything matched up to the opposite side. The next thing we did was drew patterns on our pou, Since we were colouring our pou in pastel I had to practice my blending on a scrap paper so that I knew how to blend colors before I started on my good copy. I was so nervous when I was doing my good copy because I was scared that I was going to mess up. I really enjoyed doing this art but next time I could add more detail. Have you done art similar to this ?
