Here in Te Ngahere we have been practicing for cross country. The first time we practised I felt so nervous. As we were running my legs started to hurt but then I realised that if I keep breathing I could keep on pushing myself. We had to run a fair distance but we got told that the track that we will be running through is longer than we had to run for training. My first time was 7:19, and I knew that I could get a better time than that. The next time we practised I got 5:45 and I felt so happy that I bet my time by 2 minutes. I was sure that I could beat 5:45 . My goal was to keep on running non - stop. I was so happy to hear that I bet my time, I got 5:22 and then the next run I got 5:13. My very last time I got 5:25 as the field was very muddy and I think that everyone was trying not to slip over. I really enjoyed cross country training because It made me be a better runner.

Science Fair
Here in Te Ngahere we have been focusing on science. Our topic has been based on science because we are having our own science fair at school. My friend and I are finding out what liquid leaves a strong stain on your teeth. Our science has been based on real life problems. I personally love science because we get to learn new things. Throughout our science I have learnt what the meaning of a hypothesis was. My hypothesis was that the liquid with the strongest colour will dye the material the most. I really enjoyed science and I hope we can do more things around science.

Here in Te Ngahere we have been trying to find out the scientific method. We have also have been learning the meaning of a hypothesis. We had to create a paper rocket to see how far it flies. We had instructions to copy as this was our first time making paper rockets. I really enjoyed this experiment because I got to learn about the nose of the rocket and the body and why rockets need fins. After we had created our original rocket we had to upgrade something on our new rocket, my buddy and I decided to change the length of our new rocket. We found out that the rockets we made were called models. Our hypothesis was that if you make your rocket longer its most likely to go further because of the weight. We tested our hypothesis and gathered our information and we found out that if you do make your rocket longer it will go further. I really enjoyed creating paper rockets, hopefully we get to create even more.
